The identification of Deluun Boldog as Genghis Khan's birthplace was first proposed based on its location near the northern shore of the Gurvan Nuur (Three Lakes) in Dadal Soum. According to historical interpretation, the names of the eastern and western lakes together gave rise to the name "Deluun Boldog." Researchers also described a wooded hill known as Deluun Undur, situated on the southern slope of Delgerkhaan Mountain, southwest of the Khentii Mountains and west of the Kherlen River. Local oral tradition further supports this location, with residents referring to a nearby valley as "Boldagiin Am" and preserving the belief that Genghis Khan was born there.
According to historical records, Genghis Khan was born in 1162, the Year of the Water Horse, to Yesükhei Baatar and Hoelun at Deluun Boldog on the banks of the Onon River. The site is a prominent peninsula extending northeast from the eastern bank of the Onon River, above its confluence with the Balj River. Its distinctive shape closely resembles a spleen—hence the name Deluun, which means "spleen" in Mongolian. The site is located at approximately 49°03'14.3" N, 111°38'54.6" E, at an elevation of 982.8 meters above sea level. When viewed from a distance, the hill's unique shape becomes especially apparent.

Getting There
The road from Ulaanbaatar to Dadal has improved significantly in recent years, although some sections remain rough. Despite the occasional bumpy ride, the stunning scenery along the way makes the journey well worthwhile.

While visiting Delüün Boldog, take time to relax along the banks of the Onon River and experience the local culture. Visitors can purchase traditional handicrafts from local artisans and sample regional specialties such as wild berries and natural honey.

Дэлүүн болдог нь Онон Балж голын бэлчирээс дээхнэ, Ононы зөв талаас зүүн хойш чигтэй гол руу түрж тогтсон том хошуу юм. Үнэхээр дэлүү мэт хэлбэртэй гэж хэлж болохоор бөгөөд хойд өргөрөгийн 49.03.143, зүүн уртрагийн 111.38.546 хэмийн солбицолд, далайн түвшнээс дээш 982.8 метр өндөрт оршдог. Алсаас харахад дэлүү хэлбэр нь арай тод харагддаг ажээ.
